I was studying Accounting and working part-time in the casino back home in Zimbabwe, which later turned into a full-time job. Because I love traveling, a friend who had been working for Carnival for a couple of years recommended the cruise ships. And 13 years later—here we are! I still remember joining Carnival Destiny in October 2011 as a Dealer like it was yesterday. After training as a Supervisor, I realized I enjoyed interacting with guests more, so I proceeded to train as a Host in 2016. The recognition programs, the feeling of being heard, clear direction, and the training resources always available to us make me feel empowered in my role. Global Gaming has also built a culture of trust and shared purpose within the organization—giving us the authority, support, and resources to take initiative and make informed decisions. Having supportive teammates, great leadership, and programs like Coach Hub has also helped me feel empowered. Being under the leadership of Troy Kennedy, Victor Vascilescu (my initial trainer), and the Executive Host Team has been very influential in my growth within the Marketing Department. I enjoy gardening, traveling, cooking, and a good braai with some great music—80s, 90s, and early 2000s R&B… the best era of music (we can argue about this all day!).
